Ideas for roof:
This would be good (Especially my dad thinks that). It is quite unusual for the Irish builders. Everything is done backwards here. All the new developments form the continent are discarded, because that is not the way how they do it here. No matter that it might be the better way... So, the roof. Pitched would be great. More reliable.
But I do not have any price ideas for it. Simple flat roof would cost E2000 to E2265 (+VAT). Quotes from 4 different builders.
Electricians
Craig is sorting that out. Quotes are very varied. Complete rewire job is anything from E4500 to E8300. Personal compatibility is influencing the decision as there are few specific things that Craig wants.
Plumbers
Utterly disappointing. Out of 4 people contacted only 3 bothered to respond. Also, it has been more then 2 weeks since they have been in the house. Only one quote received so far. Ant that is E2500 for heating upgrades and adding TRVs and other controls to the system. That is not including the bathroom job.
Carpenter/ Builder
Had couple of tradesmen to quote for several jobs. One of them decided that he will work towards a number of E25,000 and distributed that sum across all the jobs we want. Not good! The other guy suggested good ideas that are more sensible, but has not returned any estimates just yet.
At this point I am just itching to start doing something.
